In a long term project starting in 2016 we are dealing at the intersection of photography and the city. The question of how urban space and buildings can become part of the photographic process, interact with urban experience and memory is at the centre of the work. Analogue photographic technique enables a direct transformation from light to image. This working method condemns a material change and at the same time possesses its own temporality. With urban interventions reacting to the existing buildings, we thematise the demolition and poses questions about how to deal with the current changes in the city.
This work is part of a focus project at the Karin Sander Chair of Art and Architecture at ETH Zurich under the supervision of Achim Mohné.
